The Christmas Tree

Pre-stage lights - Warns driver they are approching the starting line.

Stage lights - Lights up when the front tires are positioned exactly on the starting line.

3 Amber lights- There are two types of races (1) Pro Tree - all three large amber lights will flash simultaneously, followed four-tenths of a second later by a green light or (2)Sportsman Tree-the three ambers will flash consecutively five-tenths of a second apart, followed five-tenths later by the green light.

Green light- Go and go fast! A green light means the driver has achieved a fair start. An infrared beam starts the timing of the race when the car launches from the starting line, not when the green come on.

Red light - A red light means the driver has left before the green light was lit and may be disqualified.
